Oatmeal Stout – Stout

Here we are not talking about an Oatmeal, style born in Great Britain (presumably Scotland), we are talking about the Oatmeal Stout par excellence, the one generally taken as a parameter of this style. Samuel Smith’s Brewery born in the mid-1700s in Yorkshire is now recognized worldwide for this beer. The use of the oats, gives the drink a slightly plush and enveloping sensation. Brown color, very veiled, with a compact beige foam, on the nose it releases aromas of cream, coffee, light vanilla and a very light hint of hazelnut. In drinking, the typical plushy body of oats and a light carbonation, closes slightly dry and bitter, leaving room for a retro smell that brings us back to the sweeter notes already described above. A real Standard!
